Key Features of Konica Minolta bizhub C266i
- Prints colour and black at the same rate, so a mixed job runs at one predictable speed rather than slowing on the colour pages.
- Carries a quad-core processor with 6 GB of memory and a 256 GB encrypted SSD as standard, which is substantial hardware for an entry A3 colour machine.
- Handles media from 60 to 256 gsm in both the bypass and the duplex path, and supports banner printing, so card and cover work stays in-house.
- Detects paper type automatically with the intelligent media sensor, which cuts the jams and wrong-setting reprints that come from manual tray configuration.
- Places both sides of an identity document on one sheet with Card Shot, a job most offices do far more often than they expect.
Model Comparison of Konica Minolta bizhub C266i
The C266i is the faster half of the bizhub C226i and C266i pair. Processor, 6 GB of memory, 256 GB encrypted SSD, the 7-inch panel, media handling from 60 to 256 gsm, toner yields, security and mobile support are shared with the C226i. Speed is what separates them.
Konica Minolta has said the C266i series is intended to obtain Common Criteria certification for compliance with HCD-PP v1.0, the protection profile for hardcopy devices. If your organisation has a formal security policy that references certification rather than feature lists, that is worth confirming with us before you order, because certification status changes over time.
Against the bizhub C250i and C300i above it, the step up buys 8 GB of memory rather than 6, a 1,200 x 1,200 dpi print mode, single-pass dual scanning at up to 200 originals per minute, paper capacity to 3,300 sheets and booklet finishing. For an office producing colour daily rather than weekly, that is where the real difference lies.
Who Should Buy Konica Minolta bizhub C266i
The C266i fits offices of roughly 10 to 25 people producing colour regularly: marketing and communications teams, professional services firms, educational institutions printing course material, and property businesses producing brochures and plans.
Choose it over the C226i when the machine is genuinely shared and people wait at it. If colour output is occasional, the C226i does identical work on the same consumables with the same interface for less. Either way, the 24,000-page toner yield is the figure to build your running-cost estimate on rather than the purchase price.
