The DX 4845 is the fastest model in Canon's DX 4800 series. Chassis, 10.1-inch panel, 3.5 GB memory, 256 GB encrypted SSD, paper handling, finishing and security are the same as the DX 4835 and DX 4825. Speed and first-copy time separate them: 45 ppm at 4.6 seconds here, against 35 ppm at 5.5 seconds and 25 ppm at 6.1 seconds.
Against the newer DX 4945, which also runs at 45 ppm, the 4845 includes Wireless LAN as standard while the 4945 makes it an optional board, and it uses C-EXV 62 toner rated at about 42,000 pages against NPG-89 at about 44,500. The 4945 supports up to four fax lines where the 4845 supports one. Unless multiple fax lines matter or you are standardising a fleet on the current generation, the 4845 reaches the same speed for less.
A note on configuration: the document feeder and the Super G3 fax board are options on this series. We normally quote it with the Single Pass DADF-C1, which holds 200 sheets and scans up to 270 images per minute in duplex.
